Proofreading is usually the final step in the editing process, but for some projects, it's the first and only step.

As Wendy Horger Alsup was preparing to publish her third book, she needed a fresh set of eyes to give the manuscript a final read-through. I was excited about this opportunity not only because proofreading is my favorite part of editing, but because of the subject matter. The Gospel Centered Woman&#...

A couple of years ago I had the honor of using my writing and editing skills to help Nurturing Expressions with their Medicaid accreditation. You can read more about them here. Nurturing Expressions' owner, Tracy, was kind enough to pass my information along to a friend of hers who runs a similar company in Vancouver, Washington. Over the last several weeks, I've been working with Rhonda ...

Writing, editing, and publishing a book is always a fluid, back-and-forth process. To me, that's part of what makes it so exciting! This collection of short, thought provoking essays is perfect for starting important conversations with kids. The book can be read as a whole or as individual essays on topics such as self-esteem, in...

The Lustre

I just finished editing and proofreading a wonderful fantasy novel called The Lustre. When approached by writer Kate Policani, I was thrilled at the opportunity to edit a fictional story. Little did I know I would get so wrapped up in the plotline and characters that I'd almost forget I was editing!

First, a little about the story from Kate's website, http://katepolicani.com/the-lustre/:

"Hidden within Human society is an entrancing race of beings who look just like us...
